$3.09 per gallon???

i thought it was a joke. thinking, they can't do that. can they? this has to be unlawful. but, alas, they can. these damn gas stations are asking for drivers to pay $3.09 and up for regular gas. not the premium 93% gas, but the even more watered down 87% regular unleaded.

does anyone see anything wrong with this picture? i remember gas used to $1.19 be per gallon now we're in the $3 range. the media was making a big fuss about the soaring cost of gas last summer. everyone was talking about it. you couldn't go to the gas station without witnessing strangers becoming panel members on the topic. something happened and the prices eventually went down. over the past couple of months, though, the prices have been sneaking back up. adding on a few cents every couple of days, on the sly, going by unnoticed until here we are - back at outrageous. now the media is silent, the buyers of this over priced gas are silent, and everyone is just accepting it. forced to be gas whores. i feel so violated every time i pump my gas, that i have to rush home to take a shower. these are some shameful times, i tell ya. just shameful.

so, what can we do about this? something has to give. there's a problem going on. it's affecting my pockets and i am super not feeling it. $45 to fill up a hyundai elantra? we must be approaching the last days. i knew there was a reason i never wanted a hummer.

can anyone feel me on this?

i hear ya. this has to stop! hopefully alternative sources of energy will be available, and government will offer incentives to implement this.

When I bought my car 2 years ago it cost me $40 to fill it up, now it costs $65!! Unbelievable. For anyone who is interested in this stuff there is a brilliant book called 'Last hours of ancient sunlight' by Tom Hartmann. Truly inspirational, accessible and interesting.

ps: thanks for stopping by too.

If you figure something out let me know... When i first started driving in 1992 gas was .89. Today in ATL it's $2.89. Inflation can't be that bad, can it?

£3.09 per gallon, this is amusing try buy some in England.

Our price £0.97 per litre which equates to £3.57 per gallon

Remember this is pounds sterling and the current exchange rate is 1.77 dollars per pound.

So in dollars we pay $6.31 per gallon in England. Around 85% of this is government tax it is a complete disgrace.

there is always a rainbow to every thunderous situation...this price-gouging at the gas pumps will cause a much-needed regime change when elections come up in November...we will no longer be in Republican rule for a while...

gas is ridiculous.. the government needs to invest in building a decent public transportation system all over the USA because the time is coming verysoon when most people won't be able to afford to fill up their tanks and pay for car insurance and maintenance.. it's ridiculous!

Peace.

Fox News mentioned something about the country having enough oil, just not enough "refineries" to process it. So, perhaps jobs will be created and prices can go down when Dear ol' George W decides to invest money where its really needed -- money on building in THIS country and money on employing people so we can lower inflation.

For now, I don't know if there's much we can do about the prices, but politically, you might go to the Citgo gas stations since their oil comes from South America and NOT the middle east.

One love, one light,
W

I got this email the other day talkinga bout everyone should boycott one gas company...the gas company of choice Mobil Exxon. The only thing is that I wonder if Mobil Exxon could just sell their gas to the other companies that everyone else frequents.
